About your teacher

Louise began her yogic journey 20 years ago with an incredible 80 yr old yogini in Vancouver, who she met while on layover as a flight attendant, looking for something to do. That “something to do” quickly became a passion, and Louise soon went on to become a certified yoga instructor at the Sivananda Ashram on Paradise Island.

Although Sivananda certified, Louise’s classes reflect the influence of the many schools of yoga she has incorporated since (Baptiste, Ashtanga, Moksha, Prana Flow).Shiva Rea’s Prana Flow methodology is what most influences Louise’s teaching today, and she is currently enrolled in Shiva Rea’s Samudra School of Living Yoga, working towards her 500h certification. She now teaches at EnergiaAthletics on the Danforth in Toronto.

Louise exercised racehorses at Woodbine Racetrack for 20 years, and was the exclusive rider to Triple Crown winners Izvestia and Wando. Louise noticed the incredible effect that her yoga (breath!) had on the delicate relationship between horse and rider, and would be remiss not to mention her racehorses as some of her most important teachers, in yoga and in life!

In 2004 Louise became certified in Thai Yoga Massage and now maintains an exclusive clientele. As Thai Massage is such a natural compliment to yoga, Louise enjoys incorporating her techniques into her adjustments in class, and will be offering massage sessions for guests during the retreat.
