Interested in attending a retreat?
Why Mhai?
Mhai is not what people expect when traveling. It won’t be your marble floor, silk sheet and bamboo bedspread retreat, but, we provide an authentic experience that truly connects yogis with the island life. Mhai Yoga is the first yoga retreat hosting centre in Cuba and the only centre with a partnership with the Cuban Yoga Association. Our network with local entrepreneurs, yogis from coast to coast and the Cuban people are what make up the fabric that we are so happy to be a part of. Our goal has always been to provide yogis the opportunity to see and experience Cuba with a yoga lens.

Booking classes with Eduardo
Eduardo Pimentel, is the founder of the Cuban Yoga Association and the co-founder of Mhai Yoga. Connecting with the local community while traveling is an integral part to creating and expanding community. Practicing with Eduardo Pimentel and his students really creates an authentic experience, and it is where our passion and focus lies; yogis and fellow travellers are able to experience Cuba through the lens of yoga.
We find it important to connect with the local scene here – in fact, it is why we started Mhai yoga!

Can I come to Cuba as an American citizen?
Yes! There are some rules to be followed to ensure that your trip is legally compliant with US law. We have teamed up with Hasta Cuba, which serves as the middle person between Mhai Yoga and the U.S. government, to ensure that Americans can legally travel to Cuba. We have a variety of retreats being led by American teachers that have been approved as legal and compliant. Please visit our retreats section to see which one you would like to join!
Where can I stay before or after the retreat?
We are usually booked back to back throughout the season! We recommend travellers that will be in Cuba before and or after the retreat to book a place to stay through Air BNB or Casa Particulares. This is a great way to experience Cuba on a more local level.
How to take out money/ Exchange USD
The easiest thing to do is arrive with your cash at the airport and do an exchange there. You will use CUC while in Cuba. Additionally, you can withdraw money (CUC) from an ATM or bank. However, if you are an American citizen, it is requested that you arrive with the cash you will need for the trip as you are currently UNABLE to withdraw money with American credit or debit cards. You can use USD or Euros to pay for activities at Mhai. Check out the below website as it provides an overview of the convertible peso, national currency, and some exchange rates. It’ll also provide a brief history on howmoney works in Cuba.
